Meet Ms. GrulkeAfter teaching two years in Bloomington, IL at Northpoint School, I decided to leave Bloomington to experience life in Chicago. I love living and working near such an exciting city with so much to offer. I have been teaching for nine years at Washington, but this is my first year in the Reading Room. I love to read, so the Reading Room is a perfect place to share my love of reading with the amazing students of Washington!
When I'm not at school, I like to travel, cook, spend time on my rooftop reading, watch baseball games (Go Cardinals!), and take my dog Sadie on walks. |
Meet Ms. O'Machel
This will be my third year here at Washington School! I grew up in Park Ridge and now I live in the great city of Chicago! I am currently working on my Masters as a Reading Specialist. I enjoy reading that is why the Reading Room is perfect for me. Also, at Washington I help out with Chorus and I am also the Spanish Club Teacher.
When I am not at Washington School I like to spend my time running, going to concerts, reading and traveling!

Meet Ms. Risolvo
After growing up in Schiller Park, I was excited to be offered a job in School District 81 in 2002. I have had a variety of fun jobs here at Washington School. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in the classroom. I have also worked with technology and in the reading room for the past 4 years.
I attended Illinois State University where I got my Degree in Elementary Education. I love to learn, so I kept going back and earned to more degrees from National Louis University. In 2007, I completed my National Board Certification and it is something I am very proud of. But I don't just work on school work, I can also be found listening to podcasts, making YouTube videos with my son and doing community service in my neighborhood!

Meet Ms. Stompor
Washington has been my home for the last twelve years, but I have also spent time at Kennedy School. Overall, I have been teaching reading in Schiller Park more than 20 years. I also live in Schiller Park and love seeing students and families around town. I achieved National Board Certification in 2012. I enjoy helping other teachers throughout the state complete their National Boards as well.
Outside of school I enjoy traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with my teenage daughter.
